About The Easy Breeze
The Easy Breeze is an independent restaurant, cocktail bar and live music venue on Church Street in Bowness-on-Windermere, run by Mark and Ange Gunner.
We've been part of the village since 2016, and these days we're three rooms of good food, proper cocktails, live music and live sport, all under one roof.
If you're in Bowness and fancy a great meal, a few drinks and a bit of a sing-song, you've found the right place.
From tea room to Church Street favourite
We opened our doors in February 2016 as Auntie Val's Tea Room. Scones were involved. Then things got a bit louder. In 2023 we expanded into what you see today: a main restaurant, the upstairs Show Bar and the Back Bar. In August 2026 we celebrated ten years on Church Street with a party we're still recovering from.

The people behind the place
Mark Gunner, Owner
Grew up with the Bee Gees' management in the family, so naturally he bought a tea room. He swapped scones for a stage in 2016, and he's still the loudest one singing along.
Angela Gunner, Owner
Does the money, does the maths, does about a million things at once, and still finds time to keep Mark in line. Married to him, which counts as a full-time job on its own.
Melissa Higgins, General Manager
Has been here for over a decade and knows more regulars by name than most people know cousins. If something's running smoothly, Mel's behind it.
Paul Jones, Bar & Operations Manager
Give him a lemon, a bottle and thirty seconds and he'll hand you a cocktail. Nobody leaves Paul's bar with an empty hand.
Haydyn Beattie, Supervisor
Has enough personality for the whole team and lends it out on quiet nights. If the bar's in fits of laughter, Haydyn started it.
Three rooms, one easy-going vibe
The Restaurant
Our main restaurant is where it all happens food-wise: relaxed, friendly and family-friendly, with dogs welcome too
The Show Room
Upstairs is the Show Room, home to our live music nights and the place to be when the band kicks off.
The Back Bar
The Back Bar is our cosier spot for food, drinks, catch-ups and the big match.
At The Breeze
-
Our menu is built around the food we love from streets, stalls and bars around the world, alongside our signature dishes, Sunday roasts and a cocktail list that's dangerously easy to work through. At weekends, our bottomless brunch in Bowness is the one everyone books for.
-
Live music is a big part of who we are. We've got acts on in the Show Bar seven days a week, from local favourites to touring bands, with Sunday sets starting at 8pm. It's a big reason people call us the Lake District's favourite live music venue. Live sport and events are on screens in every room, so you'll never miss a goal wherever you're sat.

Birthdays, work dos, hen parties or just a big catch-up: we love a crowd. For groups of more than six, use the group enquiry form on our Contact page and we'll sort everything for you.
Planning something for December? Our Christmas party menu in Bowness runs through December for groups of 10 to 35, with no room hire fee or minimum spend.
