From Scones to Singalongs: The Story Behind The Easy Breeze
Before it became the laid-back live music spot it is today, The Easy Breeze was known as Auntie Val’s Tea Room- a cosy little place serving up afternoon teas, scones, Victoria sponge, and dainty sandwiches. Charming, yes... but when Mark and Angela took it over, fresh from life in Doha, let’s just say it was a bit of a contrast.
They’d always dreamed of creating something a little different — a relaxed wine bar-style space with live music at the heart of it. And that idea wasn’t random- it was personal. Inspired by Mark’s grandad, who used to head down to the pub, hop on the piano (not exactly pitch-perfect), and still manage to get the whole place singing, dancing, and ordering another round.
Music was always playing somewhere in Mark’s life- his dad, his childhood, the background noise of family gatherings. So, when it came time to reshape the tea room, the goal was clear: create a place with that same feel-good energy, where music brings people together.
Now, The Easy Breeze is exactly that.
Whether you’re in walking boots or dressed to the nines, you’ll feel right at home. The cocktails are on point, the music is live, and the atmosphere is all about joining in- whether you’re singing, clapping, or just soaking it up.
It’s not fancy. It’s not fussy.
It’s real, it’s relaxed, and it’s ready when you are.
